About the Book -- Ebb Tide, A Closer Look
My first intimate photographs of an Oregon beach at low tide were
taken in 2004 with a Cannon PowerShot S50. I lovingly referred
to the images I perceived beneath my feet as "sand art" - inspired
by Mother Ocean herself. Later I upgraded to a Nikon D40 and
am currently experimenting with various lenses and filters.
After
several years of discovering and recording the magic that is waves
and sand in partnership, I felt compelled to put these unique photos
together into a collection I now hope to share with you.
Included
in this book are 56 pages of vivid images depicting textures, patterns,
colors, prints and forms often overlooked on a visit to the shore. Each
chapter focuses on one aspect of the natural palette of a sandy beach:
rippling waters flowing out to sea, wave patterns in the sand, surprising
visual designs, colorful stream art, pebble creations, human and
animal footprints, rock cairns, rock walls and sunsets.
Enjoy!
